bob dylan.

There may be a dylan wannabe everywhere in established cities, however Winnipeg men sure do like their skateboard shoes and ripzone jackets. So as the slogans on the dumpsters around the Peg say (where said guys' clothes belong) "take pride Winnipeg!" and don a blazer and ditch the sneaks.

cycling around canada day.

Pack your bicycle basket with gin&soda, and some cold beers, because winnipeg summers mean biking around until 3 am with your buddies... no real destination in mind. 1 am teeth whitening optional.

for the love of all things holy... (pun intended)

seriously american apparel. what the heck is this?
I feel a tad sorry for that model. I'm pretty sure I just witnessed the moment she lost her dignity. Such a shame. If you're interested, you can now buy your assless-tights/chaps from your local aa store. Summer trend?

unmotivated.

I have been cooped up in my room for far too long with a wandering brain that just cannot focus. The end of the month cannot come soon enough.

jolly-good.

avoiding working on my assignment (of course), I came across these exciting exciting photos of the brand new Topshop store that opened in NYC this week. Incentive to book the "embem and erbear take on manhattan by day and brooklyn by night" summer vacation. Even if I am in the poorhouse.
Also. Now that Topshop it state-side, I wonder if they will ship to their friendly neighbors up north.

escape plan.

A weekend full of talk of possible travel plans makes me feel optimistic about what is to come post graduation. Just a few more hurdles to overcome this spring and summer, and hopefully my next adventures are just lying ahead, not to be obscured by obligations and doubt.

"I die"

I just proceeded to watch 2 PVRed episodes of "the rachel zoe show". So while my standards of high quality, educational television is dramatically teetering off into a sad depressing state, I can't help but wonder why I cannot turn it off.  The show revolves around Rachel (a.k.a raisin face, harsh? hmmmm.... no) having her make up and hair done, talking on her phone in an irritating voice while on her way to kiss the asses of designers, picking out couture gowns for celebrity clients, either saying "I die" or "that's bananas" if it's a good one, and having a meltdown when something trivial goes wrong. All while wearing fur (even in hot LA) and huge sunglasses (even in the rain).  Well this is all fine, unobtainable, and day-dream worthy, however my favorite to watch is the two assistants bicker in the designer clothes heaven of a studio/closet. Now that is funny tv. Pretty poor way to spend 2 hours of my night. I intend to regain my dignity by letting you know I also PVR Nova on PBS, I swear.

wear sunscreen, kids.

anywhere but here.

When it gets to be -30, then -6 in the span of two days, driving to school without windshield wiper fluid is a dangerous task. The car in front of you spits up dirt everywhere, and forget about changing lanes! Chances are a shoulder check is not going to help you see out of your dirty car windows, and rear and side view mirrors are obscured with dirt. I spent the day listening to everyone talking about their reading week destinations (Cancun, Tampa, the Dominican), and after throwing snow on my windshield in a feeble attempt to clean it before leaving the parking lot, dusting dirt off my coat and boots, I began to feel sorry for myself, and wondered why I wasn't going on a hot vacation.  The Mutch family doesn't have a lot of experience with tropical destinations (Hawaii being an exception), but a little r&r would sure be nice.  I decided if I could be anywhere right now (it changes on a day to day basis), I would like to drop everything and be back in Copenhagen for fashion week. Please?
